Magnus Wiik has been a fixture and a powerhouse on the Norwegian music scene for many years. An award-winning musician, he has toured as a leader and sideman in more than 30 countries spanning four continents. An artist in his own right, his production also spans close to twenty albums as a leader, notably with groups such as Open String Department, Haley’s Comet and Julie & The New Favorites.

Originally a guitarist, he is now in demand on a multitude of instruments; notably stringed instruments such as banjo, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, pedal-steel guitar, double bass and cello, as well as keyboards and piano and Irish flutes. As well as doing studio work on these instruments, he is also a producer and composer.
